Here's a simple list of my biggest lessons from 2022, consolidated down to 20 minutes and 7 lessons. Happy new year!

  1. Exercise generosity (like a muscle) daily - what you give comes back multiple-fold
  2. Practice compassion for yourself and those around you daily - without it you’ll always feel like a guest in your own heart.
  3. Create space daily to listen deeply to your internal self as well as those around you - everything you need is with you now.
  4. Intimate relationships are of the most powerful and sacred forms of deep healing work. If you choose to lean into them and are courageous enough to open your heart, it creates space for the oldest and stickiest contractive patterns from the past to be integrated and released. Your relationship is to be deeply honored, respected, and nurtured daily if you care for it to be fruitful.
  5. Take actions daily to develop self-respect and trust in yourself - do the hard things, and habituate yourself to excellence.
  6. You are only as strong as your team. Invest in people - hire a coach, therapist, mentor, etc. and nurture the relationships of those you work with. Your business is a garden, you get out of it exactly what you put into it.
  7. Love your family - this is a part of loving yourself as you are a continuation of them. Life is too short and beautiful to live behind walls, lean into vulnerability and allow yourself to be seen by those you care for most.

Join me (and 2000+ others) for the "5-Day FLOOR SITTING CHALLENGE" on January 5th for a chance to win an Ice Barrel ($1200 value) and learn 5 ways to get up and down from the ground, 5 ways to effectively sit on the ground and connect with other mobile weirdos! Have you ever questioned your purpose in life?

In this episode of Align podcast, I speak with one of the brightest minds on the planet, Jonathan Pageau. We talk all about the deeper sense of purpose in this life and how to feel more fulfiled, the meaning of religion and why it matters and whether we really need a God.

We also discuss the difference between Christianity and spirituality, all the ways in which we practice self-sacrifice and worship and the dangers of relying on psychedelics. Ultimately, we seek to uncover how much control we actually have in our lives.

Jonathan Pageau is a professional artist, public speaker and writer. He carves Eastern Orthodox icons and designs other traditional images and products. He is also a teacher, with an online course on icon carving and he has written extensively on religious symbolism. His YouTube channel has 160k subscribers and an accompanying podcast called 'The Symbolic World' explores how ancient symbolic patterns underlie our experiences of the world and can re-enchant contemporary life.

We also explore what Heterozygosity is, the difference between pleasure and reproduction and how no kink is too weird if you’re into it. 'What is the purpose of the clitoris?' or 'Why are women more successful at dating apps?' have a listen!

Light plays a really important part in our physical and mental health. It can alter our physiology, sleep, pain levels, sensitivity and even sexual function. We just need to learn how it associates with the human organism and how to balance our intake of it. We also discuss the villainization of the sun, how it relates to our existence, and how light can potentially be one of the best human healing mechanisms.

Matt Maruca is the founder and CEO of RA Optics, a stylish and science-based blue-light blocking glasses company focused on helping people improve their health using the science of light therapy for mitochondrial repair.

Have you ever wondered exactly how your thoughts effect your body?

Everything that happens in your mind; thoughts, feelings, expectations, hopes, fears, desires, guilts, are all tied to the manner in which you occupy your physical vessel. The brain is not designed for accuracy, it’s designed for survival. Our minds can sway our pain because its main goal is to survive, rather than to thrive. We discuss the ways our brain can control our pain and actions through our thoughts. The human body is under no obligation to make sense to us, but we can always try to understand it. The human body is complex, but it’s not complicated.

Dr. Perry is the founder of ‘Stop Chasing Pain’, a podcast that is a resource to help take care of your mind and body, and stop running after pain, and instead get to the root of the problem. He is a master in the world of biomechanics and general healing of the mind and body. Dr. Perry’s strategy with his patients is treating individuals rather than their diagnosis. Every person has a different story, someone who shares the same issue as another, will need a completely different treatment, because they have a completely different past.

3:14- Dr. Perry Nickelston Son and Family Life

7:59- Do you think there is a certain ‘code’ to the way trauma are passed down and manifest in our bodies?

13:50- Life is Supernatural, How to Trust the Healing Process

19:52- Explaining pain and your brain

29:46- Diagnosis’ becoming labels and the negative effects of manifestation

34:25- Chronic Back Pain has nothing to do with your back

39:20- How creating good energy for your body is dire for healing

42:19- the relevance of your past to your current health

49:38- What drives the brain?

53:53- Treating people, not diseases

1:00:08- Pain and suffering is how you learn lessons

1:14:14- What do different pain areas mean?

1:21:26- Changing the subconscious to conquer pain

1:26:33- Every system in the body works together

1:29:54- Trusting the process after trauma

1:36:01- The effectiveness of simply moving your body

When did humans become so far from nature?

I talk with Paul Saladino, the ‘Carnivore MD’ to discuss all things natural living. Society has become so full of right angles, straight roads and crips buildings. Just sitting under a tree and looking at the sky is exactly what we need living in this fast-paced world. We discuss the importance of visual nutrition and getting outside. It wouldn’t be a conversation with the ‘Carnivore MD’ if we didn’t unpack all the goodness of meat-eating, and how it is part of our ancestry.

Dr. Saladino is the leading authority on the science and application of the carnivore diet. He has used this diet to reverse autoimmunity, chronic inflammation and mental health issues in hundreds of patients, many of whom had been told their conditions were untreatable.

He hosts the podcast, Fundamental Health and released his first book in 2020 titled, “The Carnivore Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Optimal Health by Returning to our Ancestral Diet.” We talk about his supplement brand, “Heart and Soil” where he designed supplements based on all the nutrients found in meat.

3:10- Living with Right Angles and Visual Nutrition

06:37- How does someone incorporate a more natural lifestyle?

08:30- What is true health & happiness?

09:48- Navigating Human Origin Behaviors in the Modern World

12:56- The Cultural Direction Since Corona Virus

15:42- Do you think there there is any misinformation in our ancestry?

18:08- The negativity of plant-based living based on human history

22:50- The foods we eat today are not the same foods of our ancestors

25:49- The lack of fiber in ancestral diets

29:36- Comparing the factory farming of animals and plants

33:04- Looking at both macro and micronutrients

Where in history did ideas of human sexuality change? What was sexually normal in ancient times that is not normal now?

Danielli Bolelli is one of the most fascinating, precise, interesting, historians. You may have seen him on Joe Rogan's podcast, he also hosts both the 'History on Fire' podcast and the "Drunken Taoist' podcast. He is a martial artist and all around a badass.

In this episode of Align, we get into the history of human sexuality. We discuss ancient sexual norms in Rome and Greece, as well as modern day practices. How urbanization has created widespread loneliness, how humans still have the hunter-gatherer mindset, submission, matriarchies and patriarchies, and so much more.

In this episode of the Align podcast, special guest Mike Wasilisin talks about the power of embracing pain. We chat about how everyone has the ability within them to achieve whatever it is they want to achieve and how everyone can live an unbelievable life that is free from pain. But in order to get there, we need to endure the pain, as it's a necessary part of growth, both physically and mentally. So instead of avoiding the pain, we need to steer towards it to live the life we want for ourselves.

Mike is the founder of MoveU, a step by step method for helping you develop positional presence, a state of whole-body symmetry where you’re constantly observing, and correcting your body’s position with your muscles to achieve balance and strength.

Prior to MoveU, Mike had a clinical practice that led him to work around the clock, with no room for a personal life. Realizing this isn’t the life he wanted for himself, he dedicated every free moment to building the life he truly wanted that allowed him to commit to his higher purpose: inspiring the world to transform pain into a powerful mind and body.

In this episode of the Align podcast, I chat with world-renowned boxer, Tony Jeffries. Tony was the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, 7 time national champion, and an undefeated professional boxer. Today, Tony remains active in the fitness industry, traveling the world as an international trainer, honing the skills of professional athletes, including UFC fighters, and sculpting the bodies of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

I believe Tony is the kindest, most open-hearted human, especially for being such a bad ass, and know you’re going to enjoy our grounded and authentic conversation on what it’s like to have an Olympic mindset. Tony gets vulnerable, sharing the mental struggles he faced, the mental shifts he needed to make, and the affect his mentality has on his life now. Tony believes mental preparation needs to come before all else, and claims the game completely changed once he made it his number one priority.

Do you become a crockpot of stress when stuck when driving or traveling? I’m guessing your answer is yes, and that’s why in this episode of the Align podcast, I break down my bullet proof principles for ameliorating these situations. You’ll learn how to align your travel to become healthier and more optimized when sitting in a car, airplane, bus, or train. I know when you apply these principles, you will successfully turn commute and travel into opportunities rather than a way of martyring yourself to get form place to place.

It’s fascinating how deeply associated our physical patterns are with the way we think, the way we feel, and the way we perceive ourselves. When we are in the correct mechanical posture, it translates to how we act in the world. Since we spend so much of our time driving and traveling, it’s essential to improve our travel experience.

What you’ll learn:
  • The negative affects of driving and travel on your mind and body
  • Correct posture for sitting in the car
  • Quick adjustments to make to your car
  • How to do isometric workouts
  • The power of 5 minutes of movement
  • Random hacks for easing the pain of airplanes
