Gloria Mark is Chancellor’s Professor of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine and has been a visiting senior researcher at Microsoft Research since 2012. She received her PhD from Columbia University in psychology. She studies the impact of digital media on people's lives: their attention spans, multitasking, distraction, mood and behavior when they use their computers and smartphones. She also studies the future of work, and how remote work impacts how we use our devices. She regularly publishes in the top conferences and journals in her field.
