This is a fascinating time we are living in. We can’t control what’s happening in the world around us, but we can control the perspective in which we view what’s happening. We can choose to look at it through the perspective of anxiousness and fear, or we can choose to look at it through the perspective of opportunity. In this episode, I walk through multiple different ways in which we can shine light on this commonly perceived dark time.

The foods you choose to consume and the lifestyle practices you live out daily determine the quality of your relationships, the happiness you experience, and ultimately your fate.

In this episode of the Align podcast, I chat with Dr. Terry Wahls, who is more than a doctor specializing in autoimmune conditions, but also a patient with a chronic, progressive disease. Dr. Terry was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in 2000, and by 2003 she had transitioned to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. It was clear that eventually she would become bedridden by her disease, and she made it her mission to forestall her fate as long as possible.

From Dr. Terry’s direct experience, she shares her expertise on the connection between our diet and lifestyle and the quality of our lives. We chat about everything from the amount of love and loneliness we feel, to the amount of energy and vitality we experience, and the deep relationships we have in our lives.

Dr. Terry Wahls is also a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College, the creator the Wahls Protocol diet, and the author of the Wahls Protocol book.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to mentally face and deal with chronic conditions/diseases
  • The affects chronic conditions/diseases have on relationships
  • The connection between love/loneliness and nutrition
  • The affect a healthier diet has on the mentality of children
  • Lifestyle factors that lessen the symptoms of chronic diseases
  • A new approach to the Paleo diet
  • A breakdown of the Walhs Protocol diet for autoimmune conditions

“Animal foods are clearly superior to plant foods in every way, shape, and form.” Do you agree with this statement? My guess is no. But if we all agreed on the same things, the world would be a very boring place. Regardless of your beliefs, it’s extremely important to explore all the different perspectives to gain a clearer understanding and deepen our beliefs.

In this episode of the Align podcast, I'm joined by guest Dr. Paul Saladino, MD, who dives into the topic of the Carnivore Diet based off his new book, The Carnivore Code. If you have listened to a podcast on the Carnivore Diet before, trust me when I say this episode is unique. I asked Dr. Saladino challenging questions that provides you with information you have never heard on a podcast before.

He gives an in-depth explanation as to why he believes eating animal foods, from animal meat, animal organs, and animal fats, are the richest source of nutrition. Most likely, you’ve been led to believe plant-based diets is the healthiest diet to live by. He demystifies this myth and gives you a step-by-step guide on beginning the carnivore diet.

It’s very important to note, I don’t have a firm stance in what I believe is the best diet for optimal living. Please keep in mind that this episode is not a reflection of my personal perspective on nutrition. I enjoy standing on the side lines and watching the world leading health experts tee off on what they think is best.
